Poems for Book Week…

READING
A story is a special thing.
The ones that I have read,
They do not stay inside the book,
They stay inside my head.

By Marchette Chute

Which stories stay inside your head?
How many stories can you recall?
Do you have a favourite story?

A BOOK
A book, I think, is very like
A little golden door
That takes me into places
Where I’ve never been
before.

It leads me into fairyland
Or countries strange and far
And, best of all, the golden
door
Always stands ajar.

Can you write a poem about ‘books’?  Have a go and we could add it to our Blog.

  1. Thomas Callander says:

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang stays inside my head because I am making a real Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, because I am an inventor scientist – inspired by Caratacus Potts!

  2. Jake says:

My favourite story so far is ‘Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson
